Health is a crapshoot, or is it?

What makes us healthy?

I was having a lovely time with friends when we learnt that someone in our circle of friends had had a heart attack. The stress of the holiday season was mentioned as a possible culprit, but in the end, the consensus was that health is a crapshoot.
When there is no logical explanation, we surrender to accepting the mystery. Simple bad luck that can happen to anyone.

A few years ago, I met Kevin. He worked in my office; he was 24 years old and full of life. He had an ever-present smile. Kevin had recently graduated and got engaged. He played baseball and hockey and was very strict about his eating habits and exercise routine.
One day, Kevin caught a flu that he couldn’t shake. After weeks of this stubborn flu, doctors decided to run some tests. Kevin had two types of blood cancer. He passed away less than nine months after the diagnosis.

At the time, I was starting with Biodecoding. I knew that blood represents life and family, and blood gets sick when there are secrets and fears we can’t express to our actual bloodline. Chatting with a close friend of his, I mentioned this theory. She replied, “That is very interesting. Kevin had a brother who passed away when Kevin was a kid. The family never mentions him, and that has always bothered Kevin. He became obsessed with being healthy and always told off his parents for eating too many carbs”.
Someone can say that this is simply a case of genetics. I now know that Kevin made sense of the death of his brother as something that happened because he wasn’t healthy, and in addition, he didn’t grieve the loss of his brother. As time went on, he saw his brother disappear. It was like he never existed.

Kevin’s determination to control his health due to his fear of dying and not being forgotten like his brother was the root of his cancer. He built his identity around his brother’s death.
Our mind and body are our servants, giving what we ask them to give. Cancers are related to our identity, and ironically, they are cells in chaos that want to be eternal; they refuse to die.

In contrast, I know individuals who use and abuse their bodies yet have no significant physical consequences – what do they have in common? They are happy-go-lucky people. Somehow, intuitively, they have learned to release their emotions. They are light people.

Millions of people have reversed their diagnoses upon complementing their treatment with some form of psychotherapy. I highly recommend watching the documentary Heal.

Health is a sort of crapshoot if you decide to remain unconscious. If you choose to wake up and be one with your body and mind, your health is very much in your hands.

Kevin’s story has stayed with me, along with his beautiful smile, as a powerful reminder of the consequences of unconsciousness.
